Jarte Plus
Jarte Plus has all the features of Jarte plus these extra features (go to the Jarte web site for an updated Jarte Plus feature list):
Remembers Print Settings and Bookmarks: Jarte Plus remembers a document's print settings including page margins, paper size, portrait/landscape, header & footer settings, etc. Jarte Plus also remembers a document's bookmarks and word wrap setting. All of this data is remembered as long as the document is either in the recently opened files list or is marked as a favorite file. The data is remembered for all document formats.
This feature is great since you don't have to reset your page margins, header and footer, etc. each time you reopen a document. You can also set a bookmark just before closing a document and use it to instantly return to that same point the next time you open the document.
Attach Document Notes: Jarte Plus allows you to attach a note to any document. You create the note in an independent editing window that allows you to enter any information you desire. Use this feature to store reference information, revision notes, reminders, and any other information about the document that you need to keep handy. Jarte Plus remembers a document's note as long as the document is either in the recently opened files list or is marked as a favorite file.
Numbered List Syles: Jarte Plus provides additional styles of numbered lists (same as bullets except numbers are used instead of bullets). There are five different number styles to choose from and three different variations of each number style. The number styles are accessed by right clicking on the numbered list button. The start number of a list is also easily controlled. Use this feature to easily create simple lists or complex outlines.
The numbered lists require version 3.0 of the Windows RTF editing engine.
Smart Quotes: Allows the use of directional curly qoutes rather than the usual straight quotes. For example, the following line uses curly quotes:
To be or not to be... ...that is the question.
and the following line uses the normal straight quotes:
"To be or not to be..." '...that is the question.'
Many people prefer the more professional appearance of the curly quotes in their documents. The feature that enables the use of curly quotes is called smart quotes because Jarte automatically determines whether the begining curly quote or the finishing curly quote should be used when you press the quote key.
Smart quotes require version 3.0 of the Windows RTF editing engine.
Choice of Background Patterns: Jarte Plus allows any BMP or JPG image to be used as a Jarte wallpaper background. You can choose from your own image collections, download images from the web, or create your own. There are many sites on the web that specialize in wallpapers.
Remembers Saved Clipboard Clips: Jarte Plus remembers your saved clips in the Clip List between Jarte sessions, as opposed to Jarte which forgets the saved clips when you exit the program. This feature can be used to store often used clips, remember scraps of information (e.g., web and e-mail addresses, notes, etc), save images and sounds, or even store small documents you don't want to bother to save to a file.
Personal Jarte Shortcuts: The personal shortcuts feature creates Jarte desktop shortcuts. Each user's desktop shortcut brings up their own personal version of Jarte with all their personal settings.
For example, each member of a family can create their own Jarte desktop shortcut. Each family member then has access to their own personal version of Jarte that remembers their choice of background pattern, favorite files, favorite fonts, document background color, personal spell check dictionary, saved clipboard clips, etc.
This is very useful anywhere more than one person uses Jarte on the same computer.
Define Your Own Reference Bar Buttons and Links: The Reference Bar provides instant lookups to an online dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, grammar aid, and quotes reference. Jarte Plus allows you to redefine those buttons and links. Jarte Plus also allows you to define up to eight additional links of your own. Your links can even be designed to perform keyword lookups just like the default dictionary, thesaurus, and encyclopedia buttons do! See Edit Links and Edit Buttons for more details.
Roman Numeral Page Numbering: Jarte Plus allows you specify lower case Roman numeral page numbering in place of the normal Arabic page numbering in the header and footer lines of your printed documents. Roman numerals are often desirable when printing documents such as a preface.
